FOR REAL CHANGES

LAST Thursday, the country waited with bated breath for the first official pronouncements of Davao Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte as President. People wanted to know what he intended to do for them, and for the nation, and they heard it. They liked what they heard.

But since real change as articulated by Mr. Duterte requires not only change in political leadership, but participation and involvement of the citizens, The PUNCH solicited reactions to the President’s appeal. We posed the question: “President Duterte asked for public support, how do you think can you help?”

Here are the responses:

ARNEL FABIA, Mangaldan councilor: It will be a big help to inform the authorities once there are illegal activities happening in their areas.
