Lingayen- – -Gov. Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III led the awarding of some P40 million worth of housing materials intended for 8,000 households in 37 municipalities throughout Pangasinan whose residents suffered damage during the onslaught of Typhoon Lando in October last year.

It can be recalled that Pangasinan was placed under a state of calamity following widespread flooding and devastation caused by “Lando.”

During the ceremonial awarding of assistance on July 27 at the Motorpool Repair Bay 1 located at the Capitol compound, Gov. Pogi said the request of assistance was facilitated by the past administration spearheaded by his father, former Governor now 5th district Congressman Amado T. Espino, Jr., to the National Housing Authority (NHA) under the agency’s Housing Material Assistance (HOMA) program.

Gov. Pogi said the assistance took months before it was finally delivered to Pangasinan due to a long process it has to undergo like validation and approval of request. As such, he stressed that the provincial government is always willing to extend help and support to indigent families who are in need of assistance.

Meanwhile, Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr. assured that the present administration is a continuation of the past leadership whose battlecry is “to deliver what is promised.”

The vice governor said that whatever programs and projects that were launched by the past administration will be carried out by the present administration with fresh ideas and innovations to be included.

Engr. Angelito Pedeglorio, Pangasinan Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Office (PHUDCO) officer-in-charge, said that each household recipient will be awarded with nine pieces of GI-26×8 ft. pre-painted roofing sheets.

The ceremonial awarding of materials involved 50 recipients from the towns of Mabini, Lingayen and Bugallon.

Pedeglorio said that the rest of the recipients will receive their assistance as scheduled by their office.
