Guv Pogi’s teams to play in Goodwill Games
LINGAYEN–The Capitol Women’s Volleyball team and Governor Amado “Pogi” Espino III’s All-Star Basketball team will see action separately in the Goodwill Games dubbed as the Volleyball and Basketball Classics on Thursday, August 4 at 1:00 P.M. at the Divine Word of Dagupan gym.
The governor’s volleybelles will go up against PRISAA Regional Champion University of Luzon Women’s Volleyball team, while the All-Star Basketball team will try their mettle against the Pangasinan Merchant Marine Academy Sea Warriors in another featured match.
The volleyball team is composed of Atty. Verna Nava-Perez, Marife Acerit, Melanie Ramos, Mylene Caoile, Karen Gail Dorado, Janice Doria, Mercie Mamaril, Ma. Pia Kharla Crisostomo, Melody Claire Sison, Imelda Castillo, Harrietta Hernando, Jacqueline Jimenez, Daisy Magno, Jacqueline Tuazon and Kristine Louise Infante. Their coach is Asterio Sison, with Bernie Estrada as assistant coach, and Col. Rolando Diaz and Col. Romeo Aquino as team managers.
The All-Star Basketball team banners ex-collegiate players Ronel Fabricante, Felmonix dela Cruz, John Carlo Bautista, Gil Danroy Cabrera, Domingo Canaueral, Jaime Aquino, Mark Anthony Contreras, Jason Ferrer, Ramon dela Cruz, Marlon Fernandez, Jireh Andrade, Asterio Sison Sison, Eric Arcelona, Robin Santos, Jr., with Joel Sison as coach and Modesto Operaña as manager.
