IF today’s momentum of the national campaign to eliminate the drug menace today does not change, both the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) expressed confidence that it is possible to see a drug-free Pangasinan in six months.

P/ Sr. Supt. Ronald Lee, acting provincial director of Pangasinan PNP, cited both the high morale and motivation in the police force to accomplish their mission in the light of the support of President Duterte.

Lee pointed this out during the first Provincial Anti-Drug Advisory Council held last week.

He also cited the willingness of all government agencies to collaborate and share information and the readiness of communities to support by reporting drug personalities in their areas.

“If you were surprised on the number of drug personalities who surrendered, we, too, were surprised,” he said. “Tatayo ang balahibo niyo pag narinig ninyo ang kwento nila at nangyari sa kanilang buhay,” Lee added.

PDEA Regional Director Jeoffrey Tacio agreed with PNP’s prediction that the eradication of drug trade in six months is achievable.

He also cited the cooperation among agencies to make communities drug-free and the unprecedented and unexpected response of drug personalities as well that led to the suppression of the drug trade network.

Natatakot sila (drug personalities) ngayon. Noon, sila ang siga sa isang lugar,” the PDEA chief added.

For his part, Gov. Amado Espino III, PADAC chairman, said the provincial government will sustain the level of response of the ADACs from the town to the barangay levels to realize a drug-free Pangasinan. (With report from VHS_PIA-Pangasinan)
