SAN NICOLAS – The livelihood assistance provided by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has improved the lives of ambulant vendors from this town.

Fifty mobile vendors in San Nicolas received livelihood carts worth P750, 000 under the Negosyo sa Kariton (Negokart) project of the labor agency.

DOLE-1 Regional Director Grace Ursua said the fund was sourced from the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) to help enhance the existing livelihood of individual beneficiaries belonging to the marginalized or vulnerable sectors.

“The project consists of package of services such as capital assistance in the form of vending cart, tools/jigs, raw materials as well as trainings and access to social protection scheme,” Ursua said.

She added that the Negokart project aims to enable vulnerable workers to earn more income and participate in community development through the creation of employment. (AMM_PIA Pangasinan)
