LINGAYEN—The provincial government provided more than 30,000 books to the Department of Education (DepEd) Pangasinan 1 and Pangasinan 2 divisions for the K-to-12 curriculum.

Last Monday, June 27, outgoing Gov. Amado Espino Jr. turned over the reading materials to the DepEd supervisors in Pangasinan.

According to DepEd Pangasinan 1 information officer, Carmina Gutierrez, the donation of the reading materials was in response to the supervisors’ request for books for the students’ use.

She said, “As early as last year despite the fact that the Department of Education provided instructional and learning materials, still, we asked our beloved Governor to give us supplemental reading materials for K to 12.”

Gutierrez noted that all the learning materials provided by the provincial government are aligned to the subjects in the Grade 11 of the K to 12 program.

The Espino administration has been providing material assistance to the province’s school divisions.

In the previous years, the provincial government produced teachers’ guidebooks and construction and repair of classrooms and toilets. (Johanne R. Macob)
