San Carlos City has new police chief

SAN CARLOS CITY – A true-blooded Carlenian was welcomed by the PNP San Carlos City Police Station (SCCPS)  as its new chief of police in an officer-in-charge (OIC) capacity during simple turnover ceremony last June 15.

“It’s time to serve my town mates,” said P/Supt. Arnold P. Solomon, a native of San Carlos City who was previously assigned to the Security Agencies and Guards Supervision Division of the PNP Police Regional Office I in San Fernando City, La Union.

Solomon said he intends to focus on the campaign against illegal drugs, in support of the pronouncements of the incoming President Rodrigo Duterte.

The police station has already started to conduct information dissemination campaigns against illegal drugs.

On June 20, 2016, the SCCPS, in coordination with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-San Carlos, conducted a lecture on the provisions of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for the inmates charged for violation of that law.

Solomon said a drug buy-bust operation conducted last June 19 resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug pusher. Meanwhile, new suspects have been included in the watch list of the SCCPS and are now being subject of surveillance. (Christine Perez, OJT)
