P5,000 awaits Urdaneta cops’ “Biggest loser”

INCENTIVE FOR OVERWEIGHT COPS

URDANETA CITY—A cash incentive of P5,000 awaits the police personnel who will be the “biggest loser” in the 30-day campaign to trim bulging waistlines and weight in the Urdaneta City Police Station’s Operation Balik Alindog/Operation Bawas Taba program.

P/Superintendent Jeff Fanged, city police chief, said he launched the program to improve the physical well-being and fitness of the uniformed personnel.

In order to stay physically fit, one needs discipline and courage to maintain a healthy body, he said.

BIGGEST-LOSER

Everyone’s weight is recorded prior to the contest.

“They must have the discipline to get on their feet, do the moves, exercise, visit the gym and do some muscle toning. Courage to say “no”, lesser “yes” to parties, resist tempting delicious foods and mouth-watering drinks and beverages,” Fanged said.

The cash incentive will come from Fanged’s personal fund.

He said will also give P3,000 and P2,000 for the second and third prize respectively.

The UCPS’ challenge will be participated in by the 115 men and women in uniform who will vie for the challenge. The “Biggest Loser” will be known on July 6.

Fanged said he, too, need to shed some pounds from his weight.

He said he will decide whether to continue or not the program depending on the initial results. (Tita Roces/Hilda Austria)
