More classrooms ready for Senior Hi next year

THE Department of Public Works and Highways 2nd Engineering District will begin constructing new classrooms to accommodate Senior High School students in public schools next year.

DPWH District Engineer Rodolfo Dion said the P548.7 million Basic Educational Facilities Fund will be immediately implemented after it was released by the National Government to fund the construction of more classrooms in the municipalities of Basista, Mangatarem, Urbiztondo, San Fabian, Aguilar, Lingayen, Manaoag, Mangaldan, Bugallon and Dagupan City.

The construction of new school buildings is expected to be finished and could be used for the next school year.

Dion said the first tranche for the new school buildings was already implemented and ready for occupancy while the second tranche will be immediately implemented after the process of bidding and awarding and publication for the construction of school buildings.

DepEd Pangasinan 1 Schools Division Superintendent Ma. Celia Junio-Fernandez said DPWH has committed to construct 670 classrooms to accommodate Senior High School Students. (Nora Dominguez)
