MORADO is outstanding region’s OFW Family Circle

IN celebration of the 21st Migrant Workers’ Day, the Mangaldan OFW Returnees and their Dependents Organization (MORADO) was among the groups of Overseas Filipino Workers families (OFW families) in Region honored for their commitment in promoting and protecting welfares of OFWs and families.

Morado, headed by Vicky Roca Briones and founded in 2009, was named the Best OFC in Pangasinan. It was the first organized OFW group in Pangasinan and has the most number of members among all OFCs in the region. It has given various skills trainings for its members, through the grants it received from various government bodies.

“We honor these OFCs because they have shown ardent commitment as the OWWA’s frontline partners in the grassroots,” OIC Director Sergio B. Borgueta Jr. remarked. “They serve as examples to their fellow OFCs, that with cooperation and strong leadership, they could help in the empowerment of OFW families in their communities.”

The recognition rite was one of the highlights of the 2016 Migrant Workers’ Day, also known as the “Araw ng Pasasalamat.” (OWWA RWOI)
