LINGAYEN— Ten days before he officially assumes the highest elective seat in the province, incoming governor, Board Member Amado “Pogi” Espino III, disclosed to the media that his father, outgoing Gov. Amado Espino Jr., gave him one simple advice.

Gawin mo ang trabaho mo.” he said was all that his father, the outgoing governor, told him. He revealed this in an interview after the regular flag-raising ceremony at the Capitol Plaza last Monday.

The young Espino, the outgoing provincial president of the Liga ng mga Barangay, reiterated that as promised during the campaign period, his administration will continue the successful programs initiated by his father.

Itutuloy lang lahat ng naka-program for the next six months. Next year, dun naman ang bagong pagpaplano kung anong idadagdag sa mga nagawa na or pag-maintain sa mga nagawa na,” he said.

When asked how he is preparing for his assumption as governor, Gov-elect Espino said, “Hindi ko pa iniisip kasi may trabaho pa ako sa Liga.”

He said that after his inauguration, the first thing he will do is to familiarize himself with the work of each and every office of the provincial government.

Meanwhile, the incoming governor said, plans for his oath taking and inauguration, including the date for said event, are still being finalized.

At the same time, he said is working on the transition and turnover of leadership at the Liga ng mga Barangay leadership to Liga Vice President Chinky Perez. (Johanne Macob)
