Four Pangasinan Model OFWs honored

2016 MIGRANT WORKERS’ DAY

FOUR Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from Pangasinan were cited for “exemplifying highest honor and dignity in their toil” during the celebration of the 2016 Migrant Worker’s Day in Region 1, last June 7 at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Convention Hall, City of San Fernando, La Union.

The awards program instituted by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Regional Welfare Office 1 (OWWA RWOI) named the four honorees as:

Juliana C. Pico, 90, of Asingan, for being the oldest OFW in the region; M. Ramos of Asingan for the longest service years with 36 years; Coloma Family with 11 OFWs, as the family with the most number of OFWs. (The mother, Pacita, is a caregiver in London, and her ten daughters work as caregivers, household workers, nurse, and factory workers in various jobsites).

Evelyn B. Basconcillo of Pangasinan was cited as one of the OFWs who went the extra mile by being leaders of Filipino Communities (FilCom) in their host countries. (JDM_OWWA RWOI)
