Former Vice Mayor Manaois joins Creator
FORMER Dagupan City Vice Mayor Teodoro “Teddy” Manaois III has joined his Creator when he expired on June 23 at 6:25 a.m. after a lingering illness.
The former vice mayor, who served for three consecutive terms, including one term as city councilor, was the son of the late Dagupan City Mayor Cipriano Manaois, the longest reigning mayor of Dagupan.
A lawyer, he first served as councilor from 1988 to 1992 and vice mayor from 1992 to 2001.
Manaois was vice mayor during the three-year term of then Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr.
He ran for mayor twice but was beaten by then Mayor Benjamin Lim.
Manaois’ daughter, Sharone Manaois Rodriguez said her father suffered from stroke as a result of kidney problem and diabetes.
The former vice mayor is survived by his wife Teresita, the city accountant of Dagupan, children Winky, Winston and Sharone, and grandchildren.
The former Dagupan vice mayor now lies in state at their residence in Barangay Bonuan Boquig. (Leonardo Micua)
