THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has assured members of Elections Inspectors (BEIs) that their honoraria for the elections can be withdrawn at anytime from any branch of the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).

However, it advised BEI’s to withdraw their honoraria as an over-the-counter transaction instead of using the cash cards earlier issued to them.

In response to complaints from BEIs who failed to withdraw their honoraria through the cash cards, San Carlos City Elections Officer Ericson Oganiza, told the KBP Forum last week, the cash cards were funded and certified too by Land Bank but the system for on-line transaction failed to function.

Oganiza learned that the Comelec central office is being swamped daily with complaints of BEIs across the country who failed to withdraw their promised honoraria through their cash cards. (Leonardo Micua)
