BOLINAO—The Five Celeste brothers in western part of Pangasinan won in the May 9 elections defying odds about the issue raised against them being a political dynasty.

Re-elected First District Rep. Jesus Celeste said they all won because of their individual good performance.

He said of the six siblings, five of them, all boys, were re-elected.

Their only sister, Margie, does not want to enter politics.

The congressman, now in his third term, is the eldest; the second child Alfonso, was re-elected vice mayor of Bolinao for the second time. Third brother, Jorge, was re-elected and topped the race for councilors.

Arthur, the fourth child, won his second term as mayor of Alaminos City and their youngest brother, Arnold, is re-elected mayor of Bolinao for second time.

Jesus and Alfonso were mayors of Bolinao. Arthur became provincial federation president of Liga ng Barangay and served as three-term congressman. (Tita Roces)
