DAGUPAN–Uniformed personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) had their hands full when they escorted 40 inmates to their respective polling places in Dagupan.

The inmates in handcuffs were loaded in a coaster provided by the city government and were escorted in pairs by jail guards to their respective precincts in Bonuan Gueset and Bonuan Binloc in Dagupan City.

While the inmates’ presence in polling places did not cause any panic to the voters, their presence, however, was conspicuous.

The inmates and their guards were told to stay in a holding area before they entered their polling place.

After voting, the inmates were promptly returned to the BJMP district jail in Barangay Bonuan, Gueset, Dagupan City. (Leonardo Micua)
