35 mayors re-elected, 12 newly-elected

EIGHT UNOPPOSED

LINGAYEN— Thirty-five mayors were re-elected while 13 others were elected either for the first time or regained their posts after a term or two.

In the First District, re-elected mayors were: Joel Pajeta (Agno), Arthur Celeste (Alaminos City), Aldrin Cerdan (Anda), Gwen Yamamoto (Bani), Arnold Celeste (Bolinao), Alberto Guiang Jr (Burgos) and Alimar Briana (Mabini).

In the Second District, re-elected were Eduardo Ballesteros (Aguilar), Manolito de Leon (Basista), Simplicio Rosario (Binmaley), Jumel Anthony Espino (Bugallon), Josefina Castaneda (Lingayen) and Martin Raul Sison II (Urbiztondo).

De Leon was ousted few months before the elections but returned to his post due to citizenship issue. Sison assumed his post two years ago after then Mayor Ernesto Balolong Jr. was gunned down in June 2014.

Only Mayor Carlito Zaplan (Sta. Barbara) was re-elected in Third District as the rest of the mayors there are newly-elected.

Fourth District’s mayors, namely, Amador Kim (Manaoag), Bona de Vera-Parayno (Mangaldan), Bayani Constante (San Fabian) and Robert de Vera (San Jacinto) were all re-elected.

In the Fifth District, Amadeo Espino (Bautista) and Artemio Chan (Pozorrubio) retained their posts.

The re-elected mayors in the Sixth District are Heidee Chua (Asingan), Philipp Peralta (Balungao), Cocoy Rafael (Natividad), Susan Casareno (Rosales), Rebecca Saldivar (San Nicolas), Clark Cecil Tiu (San Quintin) and Tyrone Agabas (Tayug).

The unopposed mayors are Belen Fernandez (Dagupan City), Ramon Guico III (Binalonan), Silverio Alarcio Jr (Laoac), Alain Jerico Perez (San Manuel), Teddy Ramos (Sta. Maria), Timoteo Villar III (Sto. Tomas), Roberto Arcinue (Sual), Amadeo Perez IV (Urdaneta City).

Newly-elected mayors are Eric Verzosa (Dasol) and Marvin Martinez (Infanta), both in the First District.

In Second District, Balong Ventenilla (Mangatarem) and Dominador Arenas (Labrador) are the new mayors. Arenas had been a mayor in previous years and returned to his old post after several elections.

In the Third District, five were elected new mayors, namely Cezar Quiambao (Bayambang), Joseph Arman Bauzon (Calasiao), Noel Anthony Geslani (Malasiqui), Gerald Glenn Tambaoan (Mapandan) and Joseres Resuello (San Carlos City).

New mayors in the Fifth District are Jojo Callejo (Alcala) and Danilo Uy (Sison) plus Nato Abrenica (Villasis), who stayed away for two terms and successfully staged his comeback.

In the Sixth District, Mike Cruz (Umingan) is the lone newly elected mayor. (Tita Roces)
