Pista’y Dayat 2016 kicks off with 3 exciting events

This year’s Pista’y Dayat celebration unpacks with three events this Friday, April 22.
Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr., Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr. and Board Member and Liga ng Mga Barangay Provincial Pres. Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III led the opening of the two-week sea festival at the Capitol Beachfront at 4 p.m.
The opening program was highlighted by presentations of the University of Luzon Drum and Bugle Corps, the Limgas na Pangasinan 2016 candidates for a special number and the Dangoan Pangasinan Dance Troupe for its rendition of the Pistay Dayat Thanksgiving Dance.
This was followed by the opening and blessing of the 9th Pangasinan Tourism and Trade Expo at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center, which showcases a variety of locally made and export quality products of the province.
Also displayed in the trade expo are bonsai exhibits and other entrepreneurial ventures from various parts of the region.
Revelers returned to the Capitol Beachfront at 6 p.m., to cap the day with the I Love Pangasinan Beach Rave Party.
The dusk-to-dawn seaside entertainment was hosted by radio jocks from local station iFM 104.7 features Beach Zumba with Zumba Adiks, the Music Warehouse Band, SMB band, disk jockeys and fire dancers, with raffle draws in between the performances giving away prizes such as gift certificates to selected establishments in Pangasinan as sponsored by San Miguel Brewery, Inc. and Unilever Philippines, Incorporated. /Rex Marion C.
