Mayor Resuello cites genuine sincerity of Cojuangco

MAYOR Julier “Ayoy” Resuello of vote-rich San Carlos City echoed what most incumbent mayors and other officials observe about their chosen gubernatorial bet, former Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco: He is faithful, true to his words, solicitous, not a two-timer kind of politician.
The three-term mayor who is now running as vice mayor to his younger brother Vice Mayor Joseres “Bogs” Resuello as the mayoralty bet in the May 9 elections, said, “Yung kandidato natin ngayon para gobernador nakita ko po na meron syang pagmamalasakit sa kanyang mga kandidato, mapa konsehal ka, bise mayor, mapa mayor, siya po ay hindi namamangka sa dalawang ilog (Our candidate now for governor I saw in him his concern or solicitude for his fellow candidates, whether as councilor, vice mayor, or mayor, he is not a two-timer).”
Resuello’s remarks during a recent proclamation rally in Lingayen plaza for Cojuangco-Macanlalay team under the Nationalist People’s Coalition-Biskeg na Pangasinan attended by 38 incumbent mayors, their entire slate and other Pangasinan political bigwigs, drew a loud applause from the audience.
Why did Resuello say this? Here’s his explanation: Kung ikaw ang kasama niya, ikaw lamang ang kanyang susuportahan (If you are with him, he will support only you).
Resuello narrated that his and other officials’ sad experiences in past elections wherein a gubernatorial candidate supported not only one, two but all candidates running for the same position in a particular area.
Citing a specific example in San Carlos City, he said, “Kami po ay naging tapat ngunit ang nangyari pala, lahat kaming kandidato sa siyudad ng San Carlos kandidato rin niya (We were faithful and loyal to him but what happened, all of us candidates in San Carlos were also his candidates)”.
“Hindi dapat ganito (It should not be like this),” he said.
He went on to say that they support Cojuangco because “hanap namin sa kandidato ay kandidatong nagmamahal sa kanyang mga kasama, nagmamalasakit, at hindi kayo dino-double play (we are looking for a candidate who truly loves his group, who truly cares and not the kind who does double play)”.
“Nangyari na po sa amin yan at alam kong nangyari na rin po sa inyo (It had happened to us and I know it also happened to you),” he said, as officials and candidates from the audience gave their nod in agreement.
He said he sees the sincerity of Cojuangco and expressed optimism that Cojuangco is the one who would work for the continuous progress of Pangasinan and the one who truly loves the province.
Resuello urged his fellow officials to work together to ensure the victory of Cojuangco-Mark Macanlalay tandem for governor and vice governor respectively.
