Man tried to sneak in shabu for detainee, arrested

ALAMINOS CITY—A tricycle driver was arrested while visiting his friend detained at the city police station here after a failed attempt to sneak in a sachet of shabu for the latter by placing it inside a loaf of bread.

Arrested was Oliver Castrence, 24, single, and a resident of Sabaro Street, Barangay Poblacion here being in possession of a heat-sealed transparent sachet with about five grams of shabu estimated to cost P15,000.

Police investigation showed that Castrence arrived at the city police station dawn of March 23 and asked permission from Duty Jailer, Police Officer 1 Kepler Gargueña, to deliver snacks to his friend Raul Rabago, a custodial detainee who was previously arrested in a buy-bust operation.
