Bayambang’s Quiambao backs Cojuangco-Macanlalay tandem

COJUANGCO UPDATES

A BUSINESS mogul, philanthropist and major political supporter of mayors and many elected officials of Bayambang town have set aside friendship for the greater good of the people after he publicly expressed his support for Mark Cojuangco-Mark Macanlalay Team.

Dr. Cezar T. Quiambao, an independent mayoralty candidate, in a press conference in his sprawling residence in Bayambang surrounded by his runningmate Raul Sabangan, their entire slate and some supporters on April 12, said he told Cojuangco he is supporting him with a heavy heart.

“But what I am fighting for here, like what I have been telling our town mates, is to forget friendships, forget relatives, and think about our town (and) the one who can really help”.

Quiambao is a high school classmate, kumpadre and friend of graduating Gov. Amado Espino Jr. whose son and namesake is the gubernatorial rival of Cojuangco.

Quiambao said he sees himself in Cojuangco, not in financial wealth “but in his desire to serve the province which is just a fulfillment”.

“The satisfaction of a person is not measured by money but the real satisfaction is when he helps many people,” he said.

“Fulfillment is his satisfaction, serving the province,” he added.

He said the Quiambao-Sabangan Team is similar with Cojuangco-Macanlalay Team in their platforms.

“I saw in them that they are the ones who can fight corruption, poverty, criminality. They will also focus on education and in alleviating the plight of farmers,” he said.

He said this is unity of their team for the progress of their town and for Pangasinan.

Quiambao is known for being a top financial supporter of several mayors and elected officials here but he said he decided to run because he doesn’t see happening what he had envisioned for his beloved town two decades ago.

Cojuangco and his runningmate, Calasiao Mayor Mark Roy Macanlalay were both elated and grateful for the vital support of Quiambao and his team.  Bayambang is among Pangasinan’s vote-rich towns.

He said Quiambao is someone who is financially sound with sufficient earnings from his own businesses. “He does not need the salary of a mayor and he only thinks of a legacy he would leave to Bayambang by serving the town and its people,” he added.

“So we can be assured that this person will work only for the welfare of the town of Bayambang,” Cojuangco added.

The town derives big income from Quiambao’s businesses which list Bayambang as their principal place of business.

The Cojuangco-Macanlalay Team enjoys the support of majority of top elected officials in Pangasinan, among them 38 mayors and their entire slate, six congressmen plus some board members.
