SP okays P97.1 million supplemental budget
THE payment of the much-awaited compensation adjustment of city government personnel is now assured following the approval by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) of an ordinance setting aside a supplemental budget in the amount of P97.1 million during a special session on March 16.
Of the P97.1 million supplemental budget, at least P31.8 million was set aside for the cost of additional outlay for the implementation of the first tranche compensation adjustment of LGU personnel based on Local Budget Circular No. 108 dated January 27, 2016, and CSC-DBM Joint Circular, series of 2016 also granting step up increment to elected officials based on their length of service and retirement benefits.
Ordinance No. 2058-2016 will be funded by surplus/savings for calendar year 2015, 20 percent development fund, reversion from upgrading of PCC pavement at Main Road, Tapuac, and reversion from repair of Barangay Hall of Tebeng,
Councilor and Minority floor Leader Redford Erfe-Mejia tried to block the passage of the ordinance but was outvoted by the majority led by Councilors Jeslito Seen and Jose Netu Tamayo.
Among the projects by the supplemental budget are the construction of Open Court Gyms in four city schools; repainting and repair of three covered court gyms;
installation of lighting at open court gym in two schools; construction/upgrading of PCC pavement with drainage in eight barangays; repair of Magsaysay Market roofing, electrical materials for Boat Terminal at Magsaysay Market, additional outlay for the construction of deboning area at Malimgas Market;
Cost of construction/ renovation of comfort rooms in five areas, repair of offices at City Hall, procurement of materials for the conventional general extermination of termite of City Hall and People’s Astrodome, the construction of two evacuation centers, construction of 30 units of row houses at Bonuan Binloc Phase 3, construction of covered garage for CDRRMC;
Installation of two units of deep well in a school, electrical materials for city streetlights, materials for Information and Educational Campaign (OEC), procurement of materials for the concreting, replacement of pavement and sidewalks, materials for the beautification project for the propagation of Rosal (Gardenia Jaminoides), the city flower;
Various construction requirements for improvements of facilities and infrastructures cost of demolition of old buildings, purchases of a lot, backhoe, and three motor vehicles, office equipment and furniture. (Leonardo Micua)
