Kua laughs at alleged vote-buying pic

IT’S pure nonsense concocted by my political enemies.
This was the sharp retort of Dagupan City vice mayoralty bet Bryan Kua initially to a picture post on Facebook alleging that he is buying votes.
“It was nothing but a dirty political tactic by certain notorious politicos with criminal minds known for their penchant for ascribing silly antics to innocent persons,” Kua, incumbent Barangay Captain of Pogo Chico said in an interview with The PUNCH.
His name was again cited in a local television report when an unidentified person showed the reporter an envelope packed with three P100 bills with his campaign poster attached in the envelope to make it appear the envelope and the money came from him.
Kua maintained it was the handiwork of supporters of incumbent Vice Mayor Brian Lim out to discredit him after realizing that he has become a serious contender for the post owing to his growing acceptance and popularity in the barangays.
“Maybe they already consider me a threat, which is why they think their lies will work against me, but the people of Dagupan know better,” Kua said.
He said he and members of the Team Belen have been visiting and consulting barangays frequently, something that the other team has not been doing.
Citing his credentials and experience as a barangay kapitan, he said, the imputation of vote-buying is simply incredible and advised the supporters of the other team to focus on the vice mayor’s achievements instead of resorting to dirty tricks.
Kua admitted that he is new in city politics compared to Vice Mayor Lim so he knows that only constant consultations with barangay folks in the company of the Team Belen can help him. His popularity rating in a recent survey showed he has increased his rating of acceptance and awareness from a 20 percent to 44 percent today, making him statistically tied with Lim. (Leonardo Micua)
