DAGUPAN City has been chosen by the Information and Communications Technology Office (ICTI) and the Information Technology Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) as one of the Top Ten Next Wave Cities in 2015.

This was gleaned in a letter dated March 10, 2016 to Ed Casulla, chairman of the Metro Dagupan ICT Council from Undersecretary Louis Napoleon Casambre, director of DOST-ICTO and Jose Mari Mercado, president and CEO of IBPAB.

The two officials lauded the inclusion of Dagupan in the top ten list as Next Wave Cities for showing its commitment and excellent efforts to make the city a preferred destination for Information Technology Business Process Management (IT-BPM) operations.

The award ceremonies of the 2015 Top Ten Next Wave Cities and Center for Excellence for IT-BPM operations will be held on May 30 at 5:00 p.m. at Shangri-la Hotel in Makati City.

Mayor Belen Fernandez has been invited to the awards ceremonies that will coincide with the general meeting of IBPAP to be attended by key project stakeholders, including members of IT-BPM industry associations, the national ICT confederation of the Philippines among others.
