19 top drug suspects nabbed

LINGAYEN—The campaign to stop illegal drug trading in the province netted 19 top suspected drug pushers in various towns and cities in the province.

The top wanted persons for illegal drugs nabbed by law enforcers in February were arrested in Alaminos City, Agno, Dasol, Infanta, Mabini, Binmaley, Lingayen, Malasiqui, Manaoag, Mangaldan, Laoac, Pozorrubio, Villasis, Asingan and San Manuel.

Data gathered by The PUNCH from P/Sr. Supt. Edgar Alan Okubo, officer-in-charge at the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office, however, said a total of 114 suspects were arrested in February across Pangasinan for illegal drugs.

Aside from the top drug suspects, the rest were under the target list, watch list and newly emerged drug suspects.

About 70. 655 grams of shabu and 74.209 grams of marijuana with a total combined amount of P460, 214.675 were confiscated in this month-long operation, the report added.

The arrests were made through search warrants, buy-bust operations, warrant of arrest, Oplan Sita, patrolling, checkpoints, police response and in flagrante delicto or caught in the act of committing an offense. (Tita Roces)
