BANI – Twenty-seven persons with disabilities (PWDs) in this town received their business cart package under the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Nego-Kart (Negosyo sa Kariton) project for marginal workers.

DOLE Regional Director Grace Ursua said the latest beneficiaries of the Nego-Kart project are already engaged in banana chips making, a livelihood that was funded by the Bani local government.

The beneficiaries received P405,000 worth of livelihood assistance to help them become more productive and have greater mobility to enhance their economic opportunities in spite of their physical limitations.

Through the Nego-Kart, the beneficiaries can now sell vegetables, fish balls and general merchandise, in addition to the banana chips. (PIA-1, Pangasinan/DOLE)
