Mayor’s security aide wounded, girl hit by stray bullet
MANGATAREM—A close-in security of the mayor of Urbiztondo town and a seven-year-old girl were wounded when an unidentified suspect fired at them last Tuesday afternoon in Barangay Dorongan Punta here.
Wounded were Ronald delos Santos, 51, part time security of Mayor Raul Martin Sison and resident of Barangay Galarin and Jhane Tapiador, grade 2 pupil and resident of Barangay Angatel both of Urbiztondo.
Delos Santos was on board his tricycle going to Mangatarem when he was shot several times by suspect Elpidio Macaspe, resident of Barangay Sawat, Urbiztondo who tailed the victim on board a motorcycle.
Tapiador was at that time on board a tricycle ahead of Delos Santos when she was hit by a stray bullet fired by the suspect.
The victims are both in stable condition after being treated in a hospital.
The suspect managed to flee. Investigators recovered three empty shells of caliber.45 at the crime scene.
Old grudge was eyed as motive for the shooting. (Tita Roces)
