LINGAYEN—Twenty-seven known drug personalities in the watch list and members of criminal gangs involved in gun-for-hire, gun-running and also illegal drugs, were arrested in simultaneous serving of search warrant operations conducted by the police in 16 towns and cities in Pangasinan on February 16 till 18.

Eight search warrants were served for violation of Republic Act 9165 (anti-drug act), six for violation of Republic Act 10591 (illegal possession of firearms, explosives and ammunition) and three others for violation of both Rep. Act Nos. 9165 and 10591.

The simultaneous search warrant operations were undertaken by the police since Senior Supt. Edgar Allan Okubo assumed as officer-in-charge of the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office on January 8 this year.

Topping the list of those arrested was Lito Bragado, 35, of Lapaz, Villasis, a suspected gun-for-hire and was reported involved in gun running and illegal drug activities and No. 1 target under the Secured and Fair Election (SAFE).

Others arrested for violation of RA 10591 were Cesar Macayong, 48, a farmer of Zone 5, Nancamaliran East in Urdaneta City, Wilfredo Aguado, 48, of Nandacan, Bautista, Romeo Catchillar, 56, of Osmena Sr., Basista, Oliver Ambaliza of Tiep, Bani, and Marly Nicolsa, 52, a farmer, of Purok 2 in Mabanogbog, Urdaneta City, and Karl Jackson Lumbag of Inoman, Pozorrubio.

The top drug personalities arrested were Ryan Sinlao, alias “Bambanyot”, 30, of Poblacion, Binmaley and Marivic Carrera, alias “Vic” and Vicvic”, 44,also of Poblacion, Binmaley, both members of the Eping Drug Group; and Panfilo Macaraeg who is in the drug watch list in Esperanza, Sison.

In Dagupan City, five persons were arrested in the raid in a house in Sitio Silungan, Bonuan. P/Supt. Chris Abrahano, police chief of Dagupan City, reported that in a combined search warrant and buy-bust operation on Feb. 18 in Barangay Mangin, six more persons were arrested.

Other suspects arrested were Arsenio Lomboy of Lucero St., Poblacion, Infanta, Donald “Dondon” Nino of Quinawayanan, Bani, Dennis de Guzman of Nibaliw Sur, Bautista, Samuel Fernandez, 37, of Burgos; Bryan Bautista, 27, top 2 drug personality in Aguilar.

Also arrested for drugs and firearms were Danny Bautista, alias “Kagkag”, 46, of Carusucan Sur, Asingan. (Leonardo Micua)
