Ope Reyna elected chairman of Pangasinan CSO Federation

LAWYER and civic leader Liberato C. Reyna, Jr. was elected founding chairman of the federation of civil society organizations in Pangasinan during the Civil Society Forum held January 20 in Dagupan City.

Leaders of civic society from all the municipalities and cities in Pangasinan unanimously elected Reyna, also the incumbent president of the Dagupan City Peoples Council and the co-chairman of the Local Poverty Reduction Action Team of Dagupan headed by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, and chairman of the board of directors of the University of Luzon.

Other officers of the Pangasinan Federation of Civil Society Organizations are Leonardo Villanueva (4th district), vice-chairman; Leticia Hipolito, (4th district), secretary; and Felipe Mendoza (1st district), treasurer.

The members of the board of directors are Lyn Celino (1st district), Juanito Coquia and Isabel Sison (2nd district), Aida delos Reyes and Samuel Aquino (3rd district), Jacinto M. Sales and Diosdado T. Tablas (5th district), Betty Rafanan and Arturo Apilado(6thdistrict),  Marife Estrada (Urdaneta City), Roberto  Angeles and Allen Pioquinto (Alaminos City).

Former Vice Governor Oscar Lambino is ex-officio member of the board.

Reyna, an outstanding Rotary Club president awardee and a recipient of the Outstanding Leadership Award from the DCNHS Alumni Association, cited the strengthening of the civil society federation as a primary goal to enable their active participation in development activities to benefit local communities in Pangasinan.
