More livelihood projects distributed in 4th District

ABOUT 400 residents in the fourth congressional district were fortunate to be selected as beneficiaries of Self-Employment Assistance for Kaunlaran (SEA-K) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

They received a total of P2-million start-up capital for livelihood, specifically to be used as initial capital for small businesses like trading of vegetables, rice, fish, fruits or operating a sari-sari store.

Rep. Gina de Venecia, who interceded for the release of the funds, led the turnover of the assistance to the recipients in her residence in Barangay Binloc, Dagupan City on last week.

She was joined by mayors in the fourth district Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez, Mangaldan Mayor Bonafe de Vera, San Fabian Mayor Constante Agbayani.

Among the beneficiaries were Mabilao Angels in San Fabian, SAKADA Dagupan City, David- Masikap in Mangaldan, Beauties and the Prince, Samahan ng mga Masigasig ng Barangay San Roque in San Jacinto, the Navaluan-Masipag in Mangaldan, Matibay na Samahan ng Macayug in San Jacinto, Anolid- Mabuhay in Mangaldan, Maisan- Santo Tomas in San Jacinto, Landas –Riverside in Mangaldan, Bottom-to-Top in Poblacion, Mangaldan and the Capaoay-Masigasig in San Jacinto.

She expressed satisfaction over the implementation of her various programs including feeding missions in public schools and barangay day care centers and other social programs like grant of financial aids for those undergoing dialysis or chemotherapy by the DSWD.

Meanwhile, De Venecia batted for the presidential candidacy of Mar Roxas and her running mate, Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo, who, she said, will surely continue the good programs of the administration.

De Venecia also reminded her districtmates that her son, Toff, has substituted for her as candidate for congress in the May 9 elections.

She reiterated the family’s commitment to Serbisyong 3-in-1 with Toff as the point person if he’s elected in May. (Tita Roces)
