SOME 60 ambulant vendors in Dagupan City will soon receive a Php15, 000 worth of livelihood assistance each from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Emma Molina, city agriculture officer, said the amount will be given in the form of a “NegoKart”, with a uniform design and color made by the city engineering office, approved by DOLE.

As of January 8, a total amount of Php900, 000 covering the costs of 60 units of NegoKart have been turned over by DOLE to the city government.

“We submitted the proposal for this livelihood assistance for the ambulant vendors in the city,” said Molina.

She said the beneficiaries were profiled and selected by the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) and main criterion used was, they have been selling products that will make the carts useful.

The NegoKarts were designed to serve as an added attraction in the city since these will be clustered in designated areas. (Hilda Austria)
