Alaminos vendors get DOLE support

ALAMINOS CITY- The vendors of city government of Alaminos recently received P1.2 million from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for the implementation of the agency’s integrated livelihood program for the residents.

Three of the beneficiaries are the Alaminos Suki Market Vendors Association and the Alaminos Vendors Multi-purpose Cooperative and Alaminos Nepo Market Tenants Association received P600,000 for the establishment of a common service facility for their product packaging, while 40 ambulant vendors get P600,000-worth of Negosyo sa Kariton (Negokart) package of livelihood services.

DOLE Regional Director Grace Ursua said the fund assistance will be used for the purchase of equipment, vending carts, tools and raw materials. In support of the DOLE’s endeavors, the city government will provide P800,000 as counterpart for both projects.

DOLE-Region I also released P50,400 worth of Special Program for the Employment of Students or SPES checks for 21 student-workers in Alaminos City and P223,200 for 93 beneficiaries in Sual, Pangasinan.

A Continuing Labor Education Seminar (CLES) was also conducted for 10 members of the Golden Sewers’ Association of Sual in partnership with the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board. (PIA-1, Pangasinan/DOLE)
