Pangasinan to enhance DRRM with Japanese tech
LINGAYEN— The province of Pangasinan is set to improve its capabilities in information sharing in disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) activities with the help of Japanese technology.
Gov. Amado Espino Jr. said the discussions among the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the province of Pangasinan, and Informatix Inc. on verification survey with the private sector for disseminating Japanese technologies for integrated Geographic Information System (GIS) for improvement of Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management” was proposed to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan on Monday (December 7).
The survey will verify the effectiveness of introducing the technology of integrated GIS to enhance info-sharing capacity of the province’s DRRM activities.
The target areas of the survey in Pangasinan are the municipalities of Binmaley and Lingayen.
Espino will sign the minutes of the meeting with the JICA Philippine Office chief representative, Noriaki Niwa and Informatix Inc. director for sales, Hideyuki Imagawa. (Johanne Macob)
