P56M to fund prov’l road projects
LINGAYEN— The Provincial Engineering Office is set to implement a P56 million road projects to be funded by the province’s share in the special local road fund (SLRF).
The projects include the concreting of different provincial roads namely Maniboc-Pangapisan-Sabangan Road in Lingayen (worth P15,002,019.84), Mangatarem-Urbiztondo Road in Mangatarem (P18,002,781.63), Malasiqui-Catalan Road in Malasiqui (P9,002,087.09), Tarlac Boundary-Bayambang Diversion Road in Bayambang (P9,003,195), and Asingan-San Manuel-Agno Gorge Road in Asingan (P5,002,731.38).
According to provincial engineer Antonieta Delos Santos, of the total 725 kilometers of provincial road in the province, 57% are asphalt-paved while 36% are cemented.
“Most unpaved provincial roads are in the sixth district, mostly in the town of Umingan, which are already programmed for construction,” she added. (Johanne Macob)
