DTI assures enough supply of “noche buena” items
THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial office has assured that there is enough supply of “noche buena” food items traditionally served by families on Christmas Eve.
The assurance was given by Guillermo Avelino, senior trade specialist of the DTI provincial office, who in turn was assured by supermarket owners that there will be enough supply of “noche buena” products during the entire holiday season.
“Noche buena” products include hams, cheese, noodles and their respective condiments, fruit cocktails, cream, canned goods and other products usually being served by Filipinos in their dining tables during the festive holidays.
Avelino, speaking during the KBP Forum here, also warned sellers not to violate Suggested Retail Prices (SRP).
He said all noche products have maintained their respective price levels except certain brands of hams and cheese called “keso de bola” whose price rose just by few centavos lately.
The public was urged to report to the DTI any violation by a supermarket that sells beyond the established SRPs so they can be administratively penalized. (Leonardo Micua)
