Bikers pedal against drugs

SOME 250 bike enthusiasts took tot the streets on Wednesday to support the government’s anti-drug advocacy.

Raymund Basbas, administrative officer of the Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center here, said “Padyak Kontra Droga” was part of the awareness campaign of the Region 1 Medical Center-Treatment and Rehabilitation Center against the use of illegal drugs.

It was also in line the observance of “Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week” in the Philippines which seeks to increase understanding of the adverse effects of drug abuse not only on the health of the people – especially the youth – but also on the social, economic and even the political development of the country.

This year’s “Padyak Kontra Droga” was held in cooperation with the Dangerous Drugs Board, DOH, DILG, PDEA, PNP, DepEd, Panda Fire Volunteer and the city government of Dagupan. (PIA-1, Pangasinan)
