THE city’s 12 Health Stations are already equipped with basic medical apparatus to support delivery of basic health services to barangay residents.

Mayor Belen T. Fernandez directed the release of blood pressure (BP) apparatus, glucometer kits and nebulizers to the barangay health workers stationed in the 12 Barangay Health Stations.

Thirty-nine of the 56 BP apparatus was donated by Senator Teofisto Guingona while the 12 nebulizers were donated by civic leader Ashok Vasandani and the 13 glucometer kits and the other BP apparatus came from the Department of Health (DOH).

“We are grateful to our generous donors for their trust and confidence in our Alagang Balon Dagupan program for the effective delivery of basic medical services in the barangays,” said Fernandez.

Dr. Sheila Sabado, officer-in-charge of the City Health Office (CHO), said the newly equipped barangay health stations are in Carael, Pantal, Poblacion Oeste, Bonuan Boquig, Bonuan Binloc, Bonuan Gueset, Bolosan, Salapingao, Malued, Mangin, Mayombo and Pogo Grande.

“These barangay health stations are open daily and will be manned by our barangay health workers,” said Sabado.

Under the Alagang Balon Dagupan program, the city health office regularly conducts free medical missions in the 12 barangay health stations twice a month. (CIO/Joseph C. Bacani)
