1 dead, 3 wounded for mauling a PWD

A 31-year old Dagupan resident stabbed four persons, one of them died, for bullying his handicapped cousin on Christmas Day.

The assailant, Jaime Caramat, 31 resident of Barangay Salisay here stabbed the victims, Rommel Daroya, 22, Arnold Clores, 44, Armando Clores, 37 and Ildefonso Rosario, 27, all residents of Dagupan City.

Initial police investigation showed the victims particularly the Clores brothers allegedly attacked Ariel Caramat, cousin of the suspect while they were having drinking spree.

The suspect tried to stop the commotion as he pleaded for his cousin who has a defect in his hand but the victims also attacked Caramat prompting the latter to retaliate with a bladed weapon.

Daroya was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital due to the fatal wound on his chest while the other three victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Caramat later surrendered to his brother who is a member of the Barangay Peace Keeping Action Team (BPAT). (Hilda Austria)
