Fil-Indian moneylender gunned down
A FIL-INDIAN businessman was shot dead Sunday night, Nov. 22, in Dagupan City by unidentified hitmen-riding-in tandem along Barangay Bolosan.
Killed was Sandeep Sam Kumar, 28, was shot several times in front of his residence while he was alighting from his driven Chevrolet car, said Superintendent Christopher Abrahano, the city police chief.
He was brought to nearby Dagupan Medical Centrum by responding police but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Kumar, past president of Rotary Club of Central Pangasinan, succumbed to gunshot wounds in his head and body.
Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered seven fired cartridges of caliber 9 mm. and one deformed slug at the crime scene.
Kumar was engaged in lending business in Mangaldan town named SKM Lending.
A special investigation task group was created to probe and solve Kumar’s killing, Abrahano said.
Motive for the killing is not yet established, he added.
Kumar was the third Fil-Indian gunned down this year, the other two were Sanjay and his brother Rajesh in Barangay Malued this city in August.
Abrahano assured Dagupeños and others going to the city that this place remains safe and the latest shooting incident was an isolated case.
He said he had coordinated with the Fil- Indian community for their security concerns.
He appealed to the family and witnesses to cooperate with the police to solve the case. (Tita Roces)
DAGUPAN SP CONDOLES WITH KUMAR FAMILY
THE Dagupan City council passed a resolution on Nov. 24 extending its deepest condolences to the family of Sandeep “Sam” Kumar.
The resolution authored by Councilor Maybelyn Fernandez stated that Kumar was a known member of the community in Dagupan, being a businessman and incumbent president of the Rotary Club of Central Pangasinan.
The SP in its resolution also called on all investigative agencies of the government to exhaust all means for the early apprehension of the suspects and possibly the mastermind. (Leonardo Micua)
