SAN MANUEL—A 52 year-old farmer died while a 53 year-old barangay security officer was severely injured after a motorcycle driven by a drunk rider crashed into them while they were walking in Barangay Gueset Sur here on last Thursday.

Initial police investigation showed the victims Regie Bangayan and Joseph Sabare, both residents of Zone 1 barangay Cabaritan here were walking by the road when the motorcycle driven by Joselito Daroy Jr. with backrider Daryll Orit hit them.

The victims were rushed to the nearby hospital but Bangayan was pronounced dead on arrival while Sabare was transferred to Urdaneta City District Hospital for further medical treatment.

Meanwhile, Daroy and Orit sustained minor injuries.

Daroy was found positive of alcohol intake after an alcoholic breath test and is now detained. (Hilda Austria)
