Top drug pusher kagawad arrested
ASINGAN– An incumbent barangay kagawad of Macalong, Asingan, tagged as No. 7 in the Top 10 Drug Personalities in the town and who has a pending case for carnapping was collared in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Macalong last Oct. 22 under the police’s Oplan Lambat-Sibat.
The suspect, Ariel Quianio, presently a councilman of Barangay Macalong, a known drug pusher/peddler and major source of illegal drugs in the town.
He was arrested by the local police headed by P/Chief Inspector Charlie Angaya-on, with the help of the Regional Intelligence Unit 1 in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 1.
The suspect was also covered by an Alias Warrant of Arrest issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Hermogenes Fernandez of Branch 56 in San Carlos City dated Jan. 9, 2015 for the crime of carnapping docketed as Criminal Case No. SCC-7013
Recovered from his possession, in that buy-bust operation were the marked P500.00 bill, three plastic heat sealed sachets of shabu and drugs paraphernalia.
Charges for Violation of Section 5, Section 11 and Section 12 of Article II of RA 9165 have been filed against him. (Leonardo Micua)
