BAYAMBANG— The members of Team Quiambao led by Dr. Cesar Quiambao, a known business tycoon and philanthropist here who earlier announced his bid for town’s mayoralty post, filed their certificates of candidacy last Tuesday.

Quiambao said his team, an independent party, is composed of running mates, Raul Sabangan as his vice mayor, and Melvyn Junio, Martin Gerado, Joseph Vincent Ramos, Benjamin De Vera, Francisco Dumalanta, Dominador Flores, Jonie Angeles and Amory Junio, as councilors.

“We do not want any political debt that’s why we chose to be independent despite our connections and affiliations with higher government officials in the congress and senate”, said Quiambao.

He vowed to focus on the industrialization of the well-known agricultural products in the town such as onion and fishes, as well as the usage of technology in addressing the illegal drug problem of the town.

Quiambao’s main platform centers in the fight against corruption and political dynasty.

“I have been helping them, politicians in their projects here in our beloved town but all the while there were cases against them on alleged corruption, so it’s time I continue my service to the people on a different level”, said Quiambao who is a known- philanthropist in the town.
In the recent years, he organized the Kasama Ka sa Barangay Foundation that helped out-of-school youths and housewives finish vocational courses with the help of the Technical Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

He also organized the “Pawil Bayambang, Baley ko, Pawilen ko, Aroen ko, Tulungan ko” movement.

“After I graduated from the national high school here in 1965, I went to Indonesia to finish my degree and when I returned here in 1994, the town was still the same, no progress at all”, said Quiambao.

Quiambao Team will run against group led by incumbent mayor Ricardo Camacho and wife Zenaida, incumbent barangay captain in barangay Buayaen. (Hilda Austria)
