PSU, MMSU and UCC win in BFAR contest

LINGAYEN—The Pangasinan State University (PSU) in Lingayen, Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) in Batac Ilocos Norte and Union Christian College (UCC) in San Fernando La Union won the regional fish conservation documentary- making contest by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) held on Thursday (October 1) at San Fernando City, La Union.

The production of  “Bangus King” of PSU Lingayen, “Hari ng Pasuquin” of MMSU and “Lambat ng Tagumpay” of UCC garnered the top three highest averages from the board of judges.

The documentary-making contest called “Bayani ko sa Pangisdaan: The Search for Heroes of the Youth on Fish Conservation” is one of the highlights of the celebration of the 52nd Fish Conservation Week.

The top three winners each received Php15,000 and Php 8,000 each for their fisherman or group hero, while the non- winners each received Php 7,00O as a consolation prize. (Hilda Austria)
