Partido na Pangasinan fields candidates
BOARD Member Amado “Pogi” Espino III and his running-mate, incumbent vice governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim Jr. led their group’s provincial candidates in filing their certificates of candidacy (COC) and certificates of nomination and acceptance on the second day of filing (October 13) at the provincial Commission on Election (Comelec) office in Dagupan City.
Espino and Calimlim are running under the National Union Party (NUP) the newly formed local aggrupation of political leaders, the “Partido na Pangasinan.”
Gov. Espino also filed his bid for fifth congressional district seat.
Other provincial candidates of the Partido who filed were incumbent Second District Rep. Leopoldo Bataoil who filed for re-election and board member bets namely Teofilo Humilde (first district), Nestor Reyes and Raul Sison (second), Angel Baniqued Jr. and Generoso Tulagan Jr. (third), Liberato Villegas and Jeremy Agerico Rosario (fourth), Dennis Uy (fifth), Noel Bince (sixth), Bataoil, Baniqued, Reyes, Villegas, Rosario, Uy, and Humilde belong to the Liberal Party while Espino, Tulagan, and Sison are with the NUP.
Previously, incumbent board member Alfonso Bince Jr. said that the “Partido na Pangasinan was formed to show that Pangasinan is organized by itself.”
Bince is the vice chairperson of the Partido na Pangasinan. (Johanne R. Macob)
