Panelco loses P500,000 to burglars

TAYUG—The office of Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (Panelco) in Barangay Trenchera here was burglarized by unidentified thieves and carted away more than P500,000 cash and checks collections at dawn of Oct. 5.

To ensure that the incident would leave no trace, the thieves also took the closed circuit camera television modem with them.

The perpetrators entered at the left side portion of the building by detaching the jalousie blades near the waiting area of said office and cut the steel window inside the office.

They forcibly opened the cabinet where the steel vault was placed and where their office money collection was stored. Based on the inventory conducted by Panelco personnel, the total cash collection missing/looted was P194,978.34 cash and two checks worth P274,288.45 and P36,138.11.
