Colegio de Dagupan graduate tops CPA board exam

A GRADUATE in B.S. Accountancy of Colegio de Dagupan did his alma mater and the whole of Pangasinan proud when he topped the recent examination for Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) given by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC), while another graduate of the school placed 8th in the same examination.

The topnotcher is Ralley S. Paragas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Recto M. Paragas of Dagupan City, who scored 92.86 percent in that examination given nationwide.

Born Nov. 4, 1994, Paragas graduated with honors from CdG in 2014 where he was a Presidential Scholar.

He was a graduate of the Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS) in 2011.

His Summer Internship was spent with the Commission on Audit (COA) and the Land Bank of the Philippines in Dagupan City from April to May 2014.

Paragas was the first CPA topnotcher in Northern Luzon since 1986 and the first one from Dagupan and Pangasinan.

Velasco

Meanwhile, the 8th placer is Fern Adriel M. Velasco, son of Mrs. Anita N. Velasco of Lingayen. Born December 28, 1994, he graduated at CdD in 2014 and at the Pangasinan National High School in Lingayen in 2011.

Velasco was both a Provincial Scholar and Presidential Scholar.

He worked as Summer Intern of the Provincial Accounting Office in Lingayen from April to May 2014. (Leonardo Micua)
