84,000 voters cannot vote in 2016

UNLESS the 84,642 registered voters in Pangasinan still with no biometric registration present themselves to their local Comelec offices on or before October 31 for their biometric registration, they will be stricken off the records and will not be able to vote in May 2016.

They only have 13 days to do so.

According to Provincial Election Supervisor Marino Salas, percentage-wise, the number represents 5.2 percent, one of the smallest already in the country.

As of August 20, Pangasinan, has 1,655,063 registered voters.

The towns with the least number of voters that still has no biometric registration are, San Nicolas (1.32 per cent), Alcala (1.5), Pozorrubio (2.05), Asingan (2.1), Balungao (2.2), Bani (2.4), Sto. Tomas (2.54), Natividad (2.6), Bolinao (2.5), San Jacinto (2.7), San Manuel (2.9), Aguilar (2.8).

Biometric registration was suspended from Oct. 12 to 16 for the filing of certificate of candidacy of aspirants for the 2016 elections but it was immediately resumed on October 17.
