COJUANGCO UPDATES
CELESTE BROTHERS TO 1ST DISTRICT LGUS:
THE Celeste brothers of Pangasinan first district, known for their successful political careers, underscored the importance of unity among leaders in their area to ensure the political victory of their candidates from governor to councilors in every town/city win the political race in 2016.
Rep. Jesus “Boying” Celeste said that last Sept. 6 was the start of the declaration of officials in the first district for being united in their common aim in politics. Mayors, vice mayors and councilors, including those who are planning to join the local political race next year gathered in Bolinao to give their commitment support the Cojuangco-Macanlalay tandem, their congressman down to mayors, vice mayors and councilors in every town and city in the first district to ensure everyone’s success in the forthcoming political battle.
“We are always behind you. As soldiers, from this day onward, we declare our solidarity,” Celeste said.
He told those present that they are one in this political battle, and reiterated his support for former fifth district Rep. Mark Cojuangco with Calasiao Mayor Mark Roy Macanlalay being good partners for gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial posts in 2016.
Celeste’s brother, Alaminos City Mayor Arthur Celeste, was more emphatic in his speech, saying “whether we like it or not, politics has long started in Pangasinan”.
Mayor Art, as he is popularly known in Alaminos, was a former congressman in first district.
He said that in their district, they get about 80 percent win of all candidates for various local posts aligned with them during elections.
He added that with their help, their candidates for governor got 40,000 margin of votes. He emphasized that the incumbent governor is now ending his administration and is no longer allowed to run again.
He said the Celeste brothers who included Mayor Arnold and Vice Mayor Alfonso Celeste of Bolinao talked and agreed to support the gubernatorial bid of Cojuangco. Nine out of 10 mayors in first district are supportive of Cojuangco and his team.
“I guarantee that Congressman Mark will be a good governor if we would help him,” he told his fellow officials.
He said the success of any politician is first personality and second is capability to keep the campaign rolling. “We have them both,” he added.
“We must put in our mind that we will work together and win as a team,” he said.
Cojuangco, joined by Macanlalay and Board Members Anthony Sison and Napoleon Fontelera Jr, thanked the first district leaders. He shared with them anecdotes about his programs and activities, his travel around Pangasinan, feeling people’s sentiments, knowing what matters most to them and how he is accorded warm reception.
He said candidates of the Nationalist People’s Coalition Party which was founded by his father, former Ambassador Danding Cojuangco will also be running under the local provincial party Biskeg na Pangasinan founded by Secretary Antonio Villar Jr. of the Dangerous Drugs Board whom he fondly calls “Manong Bebot”, now the party’s chairman emeritus.
Biskeg na Pangasinan is now chaired by Mark Cojuangco.
