Capitol staff charged for drinking on duty

LINGAYEN—Three personnel of the provincial government are facing administrative charges, after being caught under the influence of alcohol while on duty.

Provincial Engineering Office field personnel Leonardo Soriano, Danilo Mandapat, and Luis Biazon were reported by Engr. Crescencia Agas, their supervising engineer, for reporting to duty allegedly under the influence of liquor.

The three have reportedly been already reprimanded in the past for the same offense.

Soriano, a construction and maintenance foreman, is facing Administrative Case No. 4-2015 while Mandapat and Biazon were charged of Administrative Case No. 5-2015.

Hearing on the case is scheduled on September 18 at 2 pm.

According to the provincial legal officer, Atty. Geraldine Baniqued, If there is substantial evidence, penalty can range from reprimand to the most severe which is dismissal from service. (Johanne R. Macob)
