Retired cop shot to death
BINALONAN– A retired senior police officer of this town was shot to death by still unidentified motorcycle-riding hitmen riding in tandem in Barangay Moreno in this town mid-morning of August 14, 2015.
Ex-SPO1 Victorino Baybayan, former member of the Binalonan Police Station, was dead on the spot after sustaining gunshots.
According to Pangasinan Provincial Police Office officer-in-charge provincial director, Senior Superintendent Rolie Saltat, initial investigation revealed that the culprits used a high-powered weapon as evidenced by recovered 5.56 caliber spent shell in the crime scene.
Culprits reportedly fled using green motorcycle without a plate number.
Work-related motive, among other motives, is being looked into the crime investigation, said Saltat. Baybayan was a warrant officer.
Meanwhile, in Labrador, motorcycle-riding hitmen also downed a certain Rick Bautista.
The victim, 42 years old, driver, resident of Brgy. Biec, Binmaley, was driving his tricycle when he was shot in Brgy Uyong national highway at around 8 p.m. last Thursday.
The suspects fled after the incident.
Further investigations in the two shooting incidents are ongoing.
